The Capilano Review Preserves Fifty-Year History with Complete Digital Archive
The entire fifty-year archive of Canadian contemporary writing and visual art journal, The Capilano Review, is now available for subscriptions through digital publishing platform Exact Editions.
The archive aims to maximise The Capilano Review's reach by offering comprehensive digital access to both individuals and academic institutions - across the world. Subscribers will gain seamless access to five decades of influential Canadian literature and visual art, including notable highlights such as in-depth interviews with performance artist Dana Michel discussing her groundbreaking "Yellow Towel" work, illuminating conversations with Indigenous visual artists Atheana Picha and Aaron Nelson-Moody, and distinctive poetry and prose from acclaimed writers including Anna Navarro, Oana Avasilichioaei, and Tom Graff.
The Capilano Review’s unique editorial approach intentionally blurs traditional boundaries between mediums, creating a dynamic space where art, poetry, fiction, and interviews converge and interact. Each carefully curated issue serves as a laboratory for experimental forms and unexpected contexts, showcasing work from both established literary voices and emerging talents who represent the future of Canadian writing.
This digital archive project represents a significant milestone in preserving Canada's literary heritage while making it accessible to new generations of readers, researchers, and artists.
