Publishers make their Newsstand apps available at literary festivals.

A number of Britain’s highest profile literary and current affairs magazines, will be freely available at prominent literary events across the United Kingdom. Digital publishing experts, Exact Editions, have partnered with leading magazines to promote their titles in the next stage of the ByPlace™ revolution. Harnessing Exact Edition’s unique geo-location technology. Attendees of such events will be able to freely access a number of Newsstand apps, purely by virtue of their location.

Some of Britain’s foremost literary publications such as Literary Review, The London Magazine, and Mslexia, will be free on location at events such as Oxford Literary Festival, The Hay Festival of Literature & Arts, and Edinburgh International Book Festival. The nature of location targeted access in events such as these demonstrates a novel way for organisers to interact with, and to enrich the experience of, attendees. There are obvious further benefits to publishers, this groundbreaking feature showcases the potential in providing free access to an audience that represents the reader demographic. Publishers can use events and their locations to give free access to a large number of their target market, and instantly turn them in to potential future subscribers.

Any user within the specified locations will be able to access a wide range of magazines, all listed below, as much as they like for the duration of the events. As soon as the event is over, or the user leaves the targeted location, they keep the downloaded issue but not be able to download new issues without subscribing to the app. This distinctive Exact Editions access method gives obvious benefits to both consumer and publisher.
