The Cutlers' feast at Sheffield, although not consecrated to the ends of political party, has usually served as an occasion for sounding the key-note of some theme at once timely and national. This year it was made available for a purpose which will attract and combine the best sympathies of two great nations. England and America have greeted one another and cordially shaken hands over the festive board. We are not wont to ascribe to post-prandial speeches much diplomatic weight.
