The Model Railway Section hag now reached the stage where it will leave the protection of the parent body and go forth as a separate organisation ~ the New Zealand Model Railway Association. The story of the formation and growth of the Section, and the founding of the new Association, has already been related in this journal and ueed not be elab- orated upon here. I would like to mention, however, that the success or otherwise cf this journal depends to a large extent upon the readurs themselves und their contributions in the form of articles end notes. As was mentioned in our last issue the amount of weterial on hand for publica- tion is very low, and I would ask all readers who are in a position to do so to forward whatever material they can in the way of constructional articles, descriptions of or suggestions for systein layouts, particulars of prototypes suitable for reproduction on a miniature system, experiences in model railway matters, useful hints and suggestions, or other simiiar matter. In conclusion I would like to take this opportunity of extending to all members of the Section and readers of this journal my best wishes for a pleasant Christmas-tide, and for the New Yeer a full measure of henlth and hapniness: may 1948 he n euceearfnl veer in the nursuit of our hobbv.
