Jenuary-February 1959 Volume Twelve gr COMIENCING the first issue of our twelfth volunc of the JOURNAL, and our twelfth year of operations, I would first of all like to extend to all members of the Association, and readers of this publication, on behalf of your Management Cormittce, best wishes for 1959, even though they are rather late! We trust that this new ycar will bring to you all o full measure of health anc hanpiness, anc a successful year of building and operating. This issue is a little later appearing than we had planncd, but we are able to include, for about the first time in our existence, audited accounts for the year ended 51 December 1958! We also include in this issuc the Annual Report of your Management Cormittee for the year 1958, +o be presented to the Annual. Gen- eral Meeting to be held on Saturday 11 April 1959 in the Staff Cafeteria in the Wellington Railway Station building, ond the List of Nerbers at 31 December 1958, At the moment we are not sure what you will get for the rest of this year in the pages of the JOURNAL. On looking back through past issues we notice that & regularly recurring request is that for more original material for publication. And once again we must ask all members to rally round and keep us supplied with items of interest for publication. In the past we have. catered mainly for the modeller of New Zealand stock and equipment, although much has also been of some use, perhaps with a little alteration, to followers of the various proprietary lines. It has been agreed that we should expand our ficld and cater for those whose interest lies in Hornby-Dublo, Wirklin, Rivarossi, Triang, and so on, but to do this adequately we require reporters to kcep us informed of new develop- ments, and what can be done with the various itoms of equipment. Spread over a number of members, the duties of cach are not onerous anc we would appeal to you all to add your smell portion for the good of the Association, If you feel that you cannot write material for publication as is, please let us have at least rough notes with or without drawings or diagrams. From the notes, no matter how rough they are, we can transform them into an article for publication. If you so desire you may use a non-de-plume - at no oxtra charge! With this issue, which is going out to all 1958 financial members as well as 1959 members, is included the title page and index for Volume 11, 1958. Some January-February 1959 , Page 1
